Vestrahorn Wedding
Anna & John at Vestrahorn
A small wedding for about twenty guests in the south-east of Iceland. Anna and John got married by Vestrahorn with bonfires burning in fire pits and a s’mores picnic after the ceremony, then celebrated with a late lunch at Hótel Jökulsárlón and a visit to Múlagljúfur canyon. Planned by Pink Iceland.
About Vestrahorn
Vestrahorn rises above the Stokksnes peninsula, a short drive from the town of Höfn in south-east Iceland. The jagged peaks, the black sand dunes covered in tufts of grass and the reflections in the wet sand at low tide make it one of the most dramatic backdrops in the whole country.
The land is privately owned and you enter through the Viking Café, where a small fee is paid. It is quiet compared with the South Coast, which makes it a great place for a ceremony with a small group – and on clear winter nights it is one of the best places to see the northern lights.
Vestrahorn combines well with Jökulsárlón, Diamond Beach and the canyons and glaciers of the south-east, so it is worth planning two or three days in the area. More places to elope in Iceland.
