Amalfi Coast Wedding Videographer
Pastel villages stacked on the cliffs, lemon terraces, the deep blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea and sunsets that turn the whole coast golden – the Amalfi Coast is one of the most romantic places in the world to get married. I film weddings in Positano and along the whole coast, from intimate ceremonies on a villa terrace to celebrations that fill a hotel for the weekend.
I film as a documentary – watching and waiting for the real moments rather than directing them – and edit them into cinematic films you will want to watch again and again. For larger weddings I come with a team of two or three videographers and, where the location allows it, a dedicated drone operator.
Villa San Giacomo, Positano
High above Positano, Villa San Giacomo looks straight down on the village and out over the sea. The two brides said their vows on the panoramic terrace in the late afternoon light and celebrated with a candlelit dinner in the villa’s courtyard as the sun went down over the coast. Watch the film.
Where to get married on the Amalfi Coast
Positano is the most photographed village on the coast – colourful houses tumbling down to the beach, with villas and hotels whose terraces seem to float above the sea. Ravello, high above Amalfi, is quieter and greener, known for its historic villas, gardens and music. Amalfi and Praiano sit between the two, and Capri and Sorrento are an easy boat ride away for a welcome dinner or a day out with your guests.
When to get married on the Amalfi Coast
May, June and September are ideal: warm evenings, softer light and fewer crowds than in high summer. July and August are hot and busy, so I like to plan the ceremony for the late afternoon and save the portraits for the golden hour. From November to March many hotels close for the winter.
Getting there and moving around
Most couples and guests fly into Naples, about an hour and a half by car from Positano. The coastal road is narrow and winding, so it is worth planning transport for your guests carefully – and arriving by boat is often the fastest and most beautiful way to travel between the villages. I plan the filming around the timeline and the logistics together with your planner.
Working with your planner
Weddings on the Amalfi Coast are almost always organised by a planner who knows the venues, the permits and the local suppliers. I fit naturally into the day, work hand in hand with your planner and photographer and keep the filming discreet. I take on a limited number of weddings each year, so every film gets the time it deserves.
