Lake Como Wedding Videographer

Grand villas with gardens running down to the water, mountains rising straight out of the lake and boats gliding between the villages – Lake Como has been the setting for elegant weddings for more than a century, and it is one of the most cinematic places I film. From an intimate ceremony on a villa terrace to a whole weekend with guests from around the world, the lake makes every moment feel timeless.

I film as a documentary – watching and waiting for the real moments rather than directing them – and edit them into cinematic films you will want to watch again and again. For larger weddings I come with a team of two or three videographers and, where the location allows it, a dedicated drone operator.

Villa Erba, Cernobbio

Villa Erba stands on the western shore of the lake in Cernobbio, surrounded by a large park that reaches down to the water. Its 19th-century halls, the terrace over the lake and the views across to the mountains made it the perfect setting for Cristina and Tristan’s wedding – elegant, classic and full of light. Watch the film.

Where to get married on Lake Como

Cernobbio and Moltrasio on the western shore are home to some of the lake’s grandest villas and hotels, an easy drive from Milan. Bellagio, on the point where the lake divides into its three branches, is the most romantic village on the lake, and Tremezzo and Lenno across the water are known for their gardens and views. Many couples arrive at the ceremony by boat – one of the most beautiful moments to film.

Lake Garda and the other Italian lakes

I also film weddings on Lake Garda – most recently at Villa Cariola, with a ceremony in the park by the old church – and on Lake Maggiore. The lakes are wonderful for couples who want Italian elegance with a cooler, greener landscape than the south.

When to get married on Lake Como

The season runs from April to October. May, June and September bring the softest light and pleasant temperatures; July and August are warmer and busier. Afternoon storms are not unusual in summer, so I always plan with your planner where we would move if the weather turns. Many villas and hotels close in the winter months.

Getting there

Lake Como is less than an hour’s drive from Milan Malpensa and Linate airports. Guests usually stay in the hotels around the venue for the whole weekend, which makes it easy to film everything from the welcome dinner to a boat trip the day after.

Working with your planner

Weddings on Lake Como are almost always organised by a planner who knows the villas, the boats and the local suppliers. I fit naturally into the day, work hand in hand with your planner and photographer and keep the filming discreet. I take on a limited number of weddings each year, so every film gets the time it deserves.
