Írafoss Ceremony & Iðnó Reception, Reykjavík
Jeffy & Oscar at Írafoss and Iðnó
Jeffy and Oscar exchanged vows in front of Írafoss waterfall on the South Coast, then headed back to Reykjavík for a reception in the main hall of Iðnó, the historic theatre by the city pond. Planned by Pink Iceland.
About Iðnó
Iðnó is one of Reykjavík’s most charming historic buildings, standing by Tjörnin, the city pond, right in the centre. Built at the end of the 19th century, it was for decades the home of the Reykjavík theatre company, and today its main hall hosts dinners, parties and weddings.
Írafoss is a quiet waterfall on the South Coast, away from the tourist routes, and one of the places where my couples most often say “I do”. Pairing a ceremony in nature with a reception in the city is a lovely way to have both sides of Iceland in one day.
The drive between the South Coast and Reykjavík takes around two hours, so we usually plan photos on the way back in the evening light. More places to elope in Iceland.
