Puglia Wedding Videographer

Whitewashed towns, ancient olive groves, fortified masserie and a coastline of turquoise coves – Puglia, the heel of Italy, has become one of the most sought-after places for destination weddings in Europe. It is relaxed and generous in the best Italian way: long dinners under the olive trees, local wine and parties that go on until the early hours.

I film the whole celebration – from the welcome dinner to the last dance – as a documentary, watching and waiting for the real moments rather than directing them. For larger weddings I come with a team of two or three videographers and, when the day calls for it, a dedicated drone operator.

Borgo Egnazia

Borgo Egnazia, near Savelletri di Fasano, is one of the most celebrated wedding venues in Italy – a resort built like a Puglian village in pale local stone, surrounded by olive groves a short walk from the sea. Christina and Donato celebrated here with 160 guests who travelled from all over the world, with a reception outdoors under the stars. Watch the film.

Where to get married in Puglia

Most weddings take place in a masseria – a fortified farmhouse, often hundreds of years old, now restored with gardens, pools and courtyards made for long tables. The Itria Valley with its trulli around Alberobello and Locorotondo, the white town of Ostuni and seaside Polignano a Mare are all within easy reach, perfect for portraits and for showing your guests the region.

When to get married in Puglia

The season runs from May to October. Late spring and September bring warm days and pleasant evenings; July and August are hot, so ceremonies usually start in the late afternoon and dinners late in the evening, as is the Italian way. The light at sunset over the olive groves is some of the most beautiful I film anywhere.

Getting there

Puglia has two international airports, Bari and Brindisi, and most of the popular masserie are within an hour’s drive of one of them. Guests usually stay at the venue or in a nearby masseria for the whole weekend, which makes it easy to film everything from the welcome evening to the brunch the day after.

Working with your planner

Most destination weddings in Puglia are organised by a planner. I work hand in hand with them and with your photographer, so the filming fits naturally into the timeline and nobody feels watched. I take on a limited number of weddings each year, so every film gets the time it deserves.
